Welcome to Northern Till & Forage

I’m Myrhanda!
Reconnect with the land. Grow what you can. Learn what grows wild.
Northern Till & Forage is a place to learn practical skills in gardening, seed saving, preserving the harvest, and responsible foraging—all rooted in the forests, fields, and gardens of Ontario’s Near North. I believe these are skills worth keeping alive—not just because they save money or fill a pantry, but because they help us reconnect with the seasons, the land beneath our feet, and the quiet satisfaction of growing and making things ourselves.
Whether you’re growing your first tomato or filling your pantry with homegrown food, saving your hundredth batch of seeds, or simply curious about the plants growing around you, you’re welcome here – everyone has a place around the garden gate.
We’re all on this wonderfully messy adventure called life, and I’d love to help make growing, preserving, and learning from the land a little simpler (and hopefully a lot more fun). I’ll happily share the things that worked…and maybe even more importantly, the things that absolutely didn’t. Because if my mistakes save you a season of frustration, then they’ve already been worth making.
I’ve been gardening, preserving, and learning from the land for decades now, and I’m still learning every single season. After all… nature has a way of keeping us humble.
If reading isn’t your thing—or you’re usually out in the garden with dirt on your hands—you can also find me on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube where I share seasonal tips, projects, and a behind-the-scenes look at life here in Ontario’s Near North.
